Writer and Satirist Mark Remy with Jamie Thome

On 06 August, 2020, we spoke to writer and satirist Mark Remy.

Mark’s work has appeared in NewYorker.com, McSweeney’s, Bloomberg Media, Outside, Men's Health, TV Guide, NatuRx, Lonely Planet, mental_floss, Cosmopolitan, and Time Inc.

A longtime runner and 28-time marathoner, Mark was an editor at Runner's World for many years and has written four books about running. In 2015, he founded DumbRunner.com, a reader-supported website that many fans describe as "The Onion, but for runners."

Mark lives in Portland, Oregon, with his wife and two children. We'll talk writing process, how to be funny, and where ideas come from; we'll also probably touch on writing in a time of COVID, and how to make sense in a senseless time.
