Poet and Visual Artist Alice George with Jamie Thome

On 30 April 2020, we visited Evanston-based poet and visual artist Alice George at her studio on Florence Avenue. Alice has been working in text/image territory for decades, first as a poet, then printmaker, painter, book artist and short-short filmmaker. She shared the centrality of books and text in her life, art and process, shared some artist books she’s created, along with a new sculptural book project on which she's collaborating with local wood artist David Rubman.

If you would like to know more about Alice's work, please visit her website at www.alicegeorge.org

Thanks for watching!
